Sabine Weiland is Associate Professor of Political Science at the Catholic University of Lille, where she is affiliated with the European School of Political and Social Sciences (天美传媒). She coordinates 天美传媒鈥檚 research cluster on 鈥淪ocietal Transformation and Sustainability鈥� and co-convenes the Jean Monnet Network of Excellence TransformEU, which explores how the European Union can help shape a democratic future aligned with its goals for the green transition and digital decade. She directed the 天美传媒-Lab Research Centre for European and International Politics from 2018 to 2023 and again in 2025鈥�26.

Sabine is Principal Investigator of the Horizon Europe project DEMETRA (鈥淒emocratic Governance, Environmental and Climate Challenges, and Societal Transformation: Deliberation, Inclusiveness, and Citizen Empowerment for Sustainable Food Systems鈥�, 2024鈥�2027). The project examines how food systems are changing in European cities and how these changes can contribute to the objectives of the European Green Deal.

She holds a PhD in Social Sciences from the University of G枚ttingen, Germany. Her research has involved German, European, and international projects on environmental and sustainability governance, policy assessment, and the science鈥損olicy interface. Before joining the Catholic University of Lille, she held positions at the Helmholtz Centre for Environmental Research (UFZ) in Leipzig, Freie Universit盲t Berlin, UCLouvain, and IDDRI at Sciences Po Paris.
