Daniel-Louis Seiler is Emeritus Full Professor at Sciences po Aix-en-Provence and Senior Associate Research Fellow.
His current research focuses mainly on Comparative Politics (Theory and Methods) and on the comparative analysis of political parties in both Western and East-Central Europe. He is the author of twelve books, and has edited and/or co-edited five other books, he has written thirty-one articles in scientific journals. His two last books are聽Clivages et familles politiques en Europe听补苍诲听Qu鈥檈st-ce que l鈥橢urope聽(both at Editions de l鈥橴niversit茅 de Bruxelles); his last publication in English is 芦聽Parties聽禄, in聽International Encyclopedia of Political Science聽(Sage, 2011).
Daniel-Louis Seiler got his PhD in Political Science from the Catholic University of Louvain, and has taught at University College Dublin, UQAM, at the Universities of Lausanne, 鈥淪ciences po Paris鈥 (Andr茅 Siegfried Chair), Bordeaux and Aix-en-Provence. He has been Visiting Scholar at the University of Michigan and at UCLA and Visiting Professor at Laval University, at the Universities of Geneva, Freiburg, Brussels, Louvain, Barcelona (Autonoma), UPV Bilbao and the University of Colorado at Boulder.
He is one of the two editors of the collection 鈥淧olitiques compar茅es鈥, publisher: Economica (Paris) and one of the three 鈥渇ounding fathers鈥 of聽Revue international de politique compar茅e聽and is still a member of the editorial board of this journal. He has been member of the National Committee of the CNRS and has chaired the National Jury of the 鈥淎gr茅gation de science politique鈥.
